Scandia House, Ballymena (Listed Building)
In 2021 we were asked by a local client to put forward proposals for the restoration and renovation of one of Northern Ireland’s iconic historical houses of the 1950’s; “Scandia” by Noel Campbell. This was Noel’s seminal house build in Northern Ireland and followed on from our restoration of his earlier cantilevered house in Portrush situated on Black Hill.
A carefully and sensitively put together proposal was discussed with Historic Monuments with the retention of the majority of the building and a sensitive side extension enlarging the existing car port. Planning approval and listed building consent was approved in 2022. This project started on-site in 2023 and is due to complete toward the end of 2024.
