This was part of a sketch design process for a new contemporary house in Ballymena. The sketch design explored several alternative ideas for a new home on the client’s site, ranging from a contemporary flat roofed two storey building to a more traditional two and a half storey pitched roof design.

The two storey flat roofed design took advantage of the reasonably flat section of land within the site. It had a contemporary compact plan over two storey’s, incorporating 4 bedrooms, an open plan kitchen/dining/living space and separate office space. It was proposed to have a limited and tasteful palette of materials, to include siberian larch cladding,  white render, thermally broken aluminium windows / doors and a zinc roof. Its design focus was to create a modern highly glazed home with a good connection with its garden, without blowing the budget.
